GLENVILLE Mary H. Smith, 76, of Harlau Drive, Scotia, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Thursday, March 20, 2003 following a long illness. Marcy was born in Albany and graduated from the former Vincentian Institute (V.I.). She worked for the New York State Department of Correction for 17 years and later was a homemaker. Mary lived in Ravena until 1962 when she moved to Glenville. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. She was the wife of George H. Smith, who survives, for 48 years; loving and caring mother of Marcia L. Smith of Milton, Karen A. Vickerson and husband Eric J. of Niskayuna and the late Edwin W. Smith; grandmother of George T. Vickerson of Niskayuna; aunt of William, Ed and Scott Thomas of New Jersey and Barbara Prusak of Staten Island. Relatives and friends may call at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Scotia. Burial will be later in the spring in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorial donations to St. Joseph's Church, 45 MacArthur Drive, Scotia, N.Y. 12302 will be appreciated.
