Mary Frances Burgess, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on November 8, 2001. She was 83. Mrs. Burgess was born on March 10, 1918 in New Rochelle to the late James and Ellen (Sullivan) Dermody. She was pioneer of Bell Atlantic. Mrs. Burgess was a member of AARP, the Hugh Doyle Senior Citizen Center, and the Mount Vernon Irish Benevolent Society. She is survived by two sons, James Setford of Virginia and Alan Burgess of Kent, NY; two daughters Jean Tew of the Bronx and Annmarie Walsh, formerly of Bronxville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burgess is predeceased by Tommy Setford. Visiting will be Saturday, 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at LLOYD MAXCY & SONS BEAUCHAMP CHAPEL. A funeral mass is scheduled for Monday at 9:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the Calvary Fund, 1740 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY, 10461.
