JOHNSON, MARY EVELYN HICKMAN - 86 of Mascot, passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2014. She was born October 11, 1927 in Knoxville to Mr. Ira and Melinda Hickman (Atchley). Mary was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak. Our loving mother was a very hard worker. She worked at the Food City Deli Department for 14 years. She previously worked at Carrier Corporation for 15 years as a forklift operator, where she retired before they closed the plant. She also worked many years at Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Mary considered her friends at Food City her second family. She loved spending time with her family, her 11 wild cats and her two special companions, Corky and Tippie. The family would like to specially thank all Mary's friends at Food City for their love and support. She is survived by one son Michael Johnson and wife Gail of Mascot; three daughters, Betty Johnson Repass and husband James of Sevier County, Donna Fawver of Jefferson County and Linda Richards and husband, Dean of Sevier County. She is also survived by sisters Nellie Noe of Knox County and Gladys (Hickman) Hancock; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by both parents; husband Hubert Johnson; two sons Roger and James Johnson and six brothers, Paul, Harvey, Clarence, Howard, Willis and Herman Hickman. Funeral services will be held at Bridges Funeral Home Wednesday, May 28 at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bill Bradley officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until service time at the Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
