Mary-Ellen Smith, born in 1951, spouse of V. T Smith, daughter of Donald and Catherine, died on September 29, 2002 at 51 years old.
SMITH, MARY ELLEN, was born on October 2, 1951 in Vincennes, Indiana and died on September 29, 2002 in Meridian, Idaho. Today, Wednesday, October 2nd is Mary's birthday and she would have been 51 years old, much too young to leave this world and her family. She passed away unexpectedly at her home Sunday night of natural causes. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, V.T. Skeeter Smith; daughter, Theresa and her husband, Jeff Mueller and their son (and our wonderful grandson), James of Lewiston, Idaho; son, Richard 'Ric' Smith of Orlando, Florida and son, Jerry Smith of Boise, Idaho. Mary is also survived by her mother, Catherine Longest; sister, Julie Leverton, both of Butte Montana; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Jack Spoonemore of Elko, Nevada. Mary also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and their children; mother-in-law, Shirley Smith of Butte, Montana who was a great friend as well as her mother-in-law. Verne Smith, her father-in-law preceded her in death several years ago, but she is survived by many Uncles and Aunts of the Smith family. May was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jerry Longest whom she grew up with and loved dearly. As children and teenagers they were inseparable. She was also preceded in death by her father, Donald Longest and grandmother, Daisy Clark. I believe her to be reunited with them now. My Mary and I were together for 35 years. We grew up together and built a life for ourselves, and a family with our three children, who are now grown adults. Two years ago we were blessed with our grandson, James whom Mary loves with all her heart. We moved many many times in our career and Mary was always the support and backbone of the family. We finally resettled in Boise, built our dream home and intended to remain here until our retirement years. We have friends all over the United States we have met through our many moves and it is so gratifying to hear from them in my time of need. Mary is the love of my life and I have loved her for all of my life. She is my best friend, my companion, my lover, my soul mate, she owns my heart, and I love her now and I will love her forever and forever - and a thousand days - until I see her again. Funeral services will be held on at 5PM on Friday, October 4th at the Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 North Cloverdale Rd. in Boise, Idaho. A Viewing will be held on October 3rd from 5-8PM. Mary will be cremated on Saturday and returned to her home she loved.
