Obituary of Mary-E. Lee


Mary E. Lee of BinghamtonMary E. Lee, passed away, Wednesday, August 7, 2002, after a brief illness with cancer. Her parents, Dr. John C. and Mae Agnes Lee and son, John Fredrick Biermann, predecease her. Mary is survived by her daughters, Katherine Biermann, Portland, Maine, and Lisa (Brian) Kowalewski, Great Bend, Pa.; also her daughter-in-law, Deborah Bailey, Hallstead, Pa.; her treasured grandchildren, Chad, Jereme, Eric, Carrie, Joshua and Megan Biermann and Katie, Lindsey and Ben Kowalewski. Mary also leaves behind, brother, David E. Lee, Norwich as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was born and raised in Norwich, attended Alfred University and SUNY Binghamton. She taught art at St. Paul's School in Norwich. She later moved to Portland, Maine, where she was a foster grandparent and assisted third and fourth graders with reading. She enjoyed painting, sculpting and fishing. Funeral services will be held 11:00 o'clock a.m., Friday, August 9th, at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, with the Reverend Daniel Caruso, officiating. The family will receive friends at the DeMunn Funeral Home from 9:00 o'clock a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Saint Paul's Cemetery, Norwich.
