Mary D.M. (Mairs) Smith, 88, a 12 year resident of Haverford, PA, previously of the Village of Irvington-on-Hudson, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, PA of natural causes. She was born in Yonkers, NY on March 14, 1915 to John D. Mairs and Mary (Mattison) Mairs, both deceased. She was a homemaker. Affiliated with Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, Bryn Mawr, PA. Predeceased by her husband John Francis Smith in 2000. They had been married for 63 years. Mr. Smith was very active as a public official of the Village of Irvington-on-Hudson. She is survived by son John F. Smith III, Villanova, PA, daughter Mary D.S. Ryerson, Simsbury, CT, son David Maulsby Smith, Easton, CT, daughter Linda M. Smith-Shearer, Bronxville, NY.
