MARY CECELIA BARNES - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Mary Cecelia Barnes, 82, died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born in Burlington on Oct. 9, 1929, the daughter of Andrew Oliver and Alice (Wickson) Kinville. She was educated in Burlington schools and was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1947. On Aug. 13, 1955, she was married in Christ the King Church in Burlington to Robert H. Barnes. She was a member of St. John Vianney Parish in South Burlington. The most important part of her life was the love of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was always our rock, best listener, advisor and playmate to her adored grandson. She found great comfort and strength in her faith and church, attending every possible day. She loved her beautiful flower garden, tending it daily. She had a lovely voice and thoroughly enjoyed singing at every opportunity, and marching to big band music. She was quite the adventurer, always willing to try anything. And, for being so little, had the strength to carry us all. We will miss her dearly. Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert H. Barnes of South Burlington; one daughter, Patricia and husband, Norman Bosley, of Colchester; one grandson, Stephen R. Bosley of Colchester; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 12 brothers and sisters; and by two nephews. At Mary's request, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.
