HomemakerFROSTPROOF -- Mrs. Martha M. Carter of Frostproof died of lung cancer Thursday (May 29, 2003) at home. She was 78.Born in Rutherford, N.C., on Sept. 23, 1924, she came to Frostproof from Batavia, Ill., in 1972. She was a homemaker.Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley B. Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Brantley, Linda Asselborn, both of Frostproof; sons, Gentry Carter, Larry Carter, Michael Carter, all of Frostproof; sister, Nellie Keller, Frostproof; nine grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Silver Hill Cemetery.
