HICKS, Marilyn, age 81, of Montgomery, died February 16, 2002. She was a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas and taught Sunday School at John Knox and Waterford Place until the time of her death. Mrs. Hicks has been honored by various organizations in the Montgomery community for her active and sincere service as a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ. She was recently honored by Montgomery Baptist Association's Women's Missionary Union for twenty-one years of service as Missions Support Director. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church for over twenty years. Her brother, Kenneth Hicks, precedes her in death. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her sister, Frances Hicks George; nieces, Jane George Hill, Annette Hicks Stewart, Martha George Burns, Cynthia Hicks Harber; and nephew, Kenneth Hicks, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. from Cloverdale Baptist Church. Dr. Donald LaBelle will officiate. Burial will be in Newville Baptist Church cemetery in Newville, Alabama late Thursday afternoon.
