Marie Theresa (Rugnetta) Jackson, 86, longtime resident of Holly Hill, passed away peacefully with family beside her at Halifax Hospital Oct. 2, 2012. Born Nov. 5th, 1925 in Willoughby, Ohio to James and Paola Rugnetta. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ernest Jackson in 2007 and a son William "Billy" Jackson, also her parents and three sisters. She will be greatly missed and is survived by her two sons David (Vivian), The Villages, FL, Howard "Ted" (Donna), Holly Hill; grandchildren Chris (Jessica) Jackson, Jennifer (Jeff) Lastinger, Kelly (Darren) Base, Joshua Jackson and Matthew Jackson; great-grandchildren Rainey, Summer, Kyler, and Brooke; one brother; and three sisters. Earlier in her life she worked at Sears and The News Journal continuing her education and getting a Masters Degree. She then taught school at Hurst Elementary and retired after 16 years. She enjoyed gardening and had an avid love for playing bridge. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Holly Hill. Private Family Services will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers any contributions be donated in her memory to Ormond Beach Senior Center, 351 Andrews St., Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
