Homemaker LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Marie S. Williams, age 96, of Forest Street, died Thursday, July, 29, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, August 1, 2010, in the Louisville United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hibberts, Rev. Beau Taylor, and Rev. David Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Lee Webster, Ken Webster, Barry Webster, Frank Williams, III, Ford Williams, Hal McKinney, and Michael McKinney. A native of Jefferson County Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late Joseph Jefferson Sheppard and Fannie Walden Sheppard. After high school she took a business course and in 1935 married George Franklin Williams, Sr. She was a former member of Vidette Methodist Church and for approximately the last 32 years was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Williams served as a Pink Lady at Jefferson Hospital for 20 years and was a member of the Homemaker's Club, United Methodist Women, the Barwick Sunday School class, and Bible study groups. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 41 years, George Franklin Williams, Sr., a sister, Helen S. Thomas; brothers: Herbert Cleon "Cy" Sheppard, Rev. Harold Sheppard, and Lamar "Fuzz" Sheppard, and a daughter in-law, Mary Ann Williams. She is survived by, son, George Franklin "Frank" Williams, Jr., of Waynesboro, two daughters: Hilda Williams (Tony) Musgrove of Martinez, and Esther Williams (David) Boggs of Louisville; brother, J. Ferris "Tag" (Lois) Sheppard of Louisville; sister, Jewell "Judy" Tanner of Louisville; step sister, Diane (Gary) Rhodes of Wrens, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and caregivers: Jeanette Thompson, Mary Fields, Keyla Thompson, Erica Cox, and Mary Francis Thompson If so desired, contributions may be made to the Louisville United Methodist Church, 301 W. 7th Street, Louisville, Georgia 30434. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Saturday evening, July 31, at the funeral home.
