Obituary of Marie-Anne Rioux


Marie Anne Rioux, a longtime resident of Tarrytown and Irvington, died on March 7, 2001 at the Salem Hills Healthcare Center, Purdys, NY. Mrs. Rioux was born October 1, 1904 in Quebec, Canada to Zotique and Eva (nee Desnoyers) Delorme. She was educated in Quebec where she taught English before coming to Tarrytown in 1926. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert Rioux, in 1968 and a son, Roland Rioux, in 1931. Mrs. Rioux was a member of The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irvington and a former member of the Church of The Transfiguration, Tarrytown. She was active for many years in the Altar and Rosary Society, The Catholic Daughters and the Irvington Senior Citizens. She is survived by four daughters, Rolande Kraus of Garland, TX, Pauline Bowles of Pocantico Hills, NY, Jacqueline See of Mahopac, NY, and Jeanne Narbut of Napa, CA, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Reposing Monday, March 12, 2001 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Dwyer Funeral Home, Tarrytown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 13, 2001, 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Irvington.
