Marcia (Beaton) Henderson, 70, of Port Orange, passed away June 15, 2011. She was born in Arlington, MA on December 7, 1940, daughter of the late Myles and Elizabeth (Heffernan) Beaton. After graduating from Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School, Mrs. Henderson briefly worked as a secretary at Raytheon. She and her husband moved to this area 12 years ago from Pennsylvania. Her hobbies include gardening and reading; she also enjoyed spending time at the ocean, emailing her friends and using the computer. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul; her daughter, Deborah and her husband Stephen; her son, Brian and his wife Donna; three grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha and Thomas; and step grandson, Joshua; and a host of relatives and friends. Her two brothers, Neil and David predeceased her. The family will receive friends Monday; 5-7 PM at The Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday; 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Assoc.
