Obituary of Lynn Clark

CLARK Lynn Clark of Red Deer (formerly of Victoria, Regina and Swift Current) passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, June 14, 2004 at the age of 64 years. Lynn had a huge heart that touched many people. She will be greatly missed. As Lynn traveled the world with her husband Merv, she left behind a long trail of friends. Every country she lived in, every community she spent time in received her generosity. Whether working with the poor in South East Asia, volunteering with the Kinettes in Regina and Swift Current or founding a cancer support group in Red Deer, Lynn always found the time to give back. Her family was the most fortunate recipients of her generous spirit. Lynn's children and grand- children were treated to long walks, roaring cheers as the Riders won (or lost) in the CFL, beautiful hand-made clothing and unconditional love and attention, not to mention the world's greatest raisin-free cinnamon buns. She will be loved forever and greatly missed by her husband, Merv, three children, Judy (Todd) Brandt of Saskatoon, Trevor (Loralie) of Calgary, and Shannon (Todd) Nivens of Red Deer, as well as seven grandchildren, Meghan (Steve Garner), Sean and Natalie Brandt, Amanda and Benjamin Clark and Kaden and Ainsley Nivens. Also surviving Lynn is her father, Frank Gibson of Kelowna, a sister, Judy (Garnet) Jones of Langley and a brother, Gord Gibson of Vancouver, many nieces, nephews and good friends. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Fran Hare officiating. Memorial tributes may be made in Lynn's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society (4730A Ross Street Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2). Condolences can be emailed to condolences@reddeerfuneralhome.com and will be forwarded directly to the family. Funeral arrangements in care of the Red Deer Funeral Home & Crematorium (403) 347-3319.
