Lynda June Miller, 67, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Wednesday morning Oct. 9, 2013, succumbing to her brief, but arduous battle with cancer. With a quiet spiritual strength, she was at peace knowing with full confidence that she was going to Heaven.Lynda had a long and fulfilling career as a civil servant, overseeing and managing services for families and children of military personnel. Her job fueled her love of travel, giving her the opportunity to work across the country and overseas. She most recently retired as Airman and Family Services Flight Chief at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, Fla., at the age of 65. After her retirement she volunteered her time at Covenant Hospice. With a Master's of Science in Counseling and Psychology, her passion was people, none more so than her family to whom she devoted her life. She enjoyed listening to and helping others, enriching their lives with her kindness and wisdom. Incredibly bright, articulate and unfailingly patient, she always put the needs and concerns of others before her own, even through her final days.
