She was born January 9, 1949, in Springfield, the daughter of Jack and Bebe (Giberson) King. Lynda was a 1967 graduate of Monett High School and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from SMS in 1998. She worked as the Director of the Student Exhibition Center for Missouri State University. She was an avid reader, loved spending time at the ocean and on the beach, but most of all Lynda loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family.She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her parents, Jack and Bebe King, of Aurora; one daughter, Jackie Pollard and her husband, Jeff, of Plainfield, Illinois; two sons: Shannon Johnson and his wife, Rachel, of Stafford, Virginia and Stephen Johnson and his wife, Alissa, of Lewiston, Idaho; three grandchildren: Ellery Pollard and Samuel and Stella Johnson; two brothers: Max King and his wife, Josie, of Conway, Missouri and David King and his wife, Eve, of Aurora; one sister, Luanne King of Aurora; several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins. Her infant son, Greg, preceded her in death.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial in Maple Park Cemetery.
