Obituary of Lula-Hill Carter

Lula Hill Carter August 25, 1908 - March 8, 2015 Cochran, GA- Lula Hill Carter age 106 ½, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Bryant Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 7:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX at 9:30 A.M. Mrs. Carter, born in Bleckley County, had lived in San Antonio before moving back to Cochran in 1991. She was the daughter of the late Roland L. and Lizzie Jane Sapp Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Grady Carter, an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II, her children, Betty Jean Fuller, Michael Carter and Chet Carter; her grandchildren David Fuller and Rae Ann Fuller. She was a retired dietician from San Antonio Schools, former member of Cochran First Baptist Church and member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Cochran. Survivors are several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, 203 Lakeview Church Rd, Cochran, GA 31014. The family is at Doc and Helen Churchwell's "Barn", 224 Jac Arts Road and will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home. www.mathisfh.net
