Luella Lee (Ellis) Cox Luella Lee (Ellis) Cox, 82, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. Luella was born November 21, 1927 in Crane, Missouri to Horace (Tub) and Clara Gray Ellis. Luella was a graduate of Crane High School and the University of Missouri. She taught Vocational Home Economics for many years in Cabool, St, Louis County and Galena, Missouri. While both were teaching in Cabool, she met her husband, Joe R. Cox and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Luella was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill and Joe Ellis; and brother-in-law, Lee Cox. Survivors include her husband, Joe of the home; two sons, John Cox and wife Janet of Ft. Worth, Texas and Steve Cox and wife Jill of Springfield; four grandchildren, Stephen, Angela, Hunter and Lauren; sisters, Louise Ellis and Aileene Ellis both of Springfield; two sisters-in-law, Lena Ellis of Bolivar, Missouri and Kathryn Cox of Willard, Missouri; Luella is also survived by close cousins, many friends and former students. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Crane Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
