Obituary of Lucy-Maria Elliott


ELLIOTT Lucy Maria (nee Martelli) June 11, 1924 - February 14, 2008 Lucy passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital with her loving family by her side. Predeceased by the love of her life William Elliott (Nov. 6/83) and her brother Nick and sister-in-law Gwen and her sister-in-law Olga. Lucy and Bill were pioneers of Port Renfrew where they raised all 5 of their children. Lucy and Michelle then moved to Lake Cowichan in 1984 to be closer to the family. Survived by her children Billy Elliott, John (Nikki), Bob (Lynn), Doug (Diana) and Michelle Tremblay (Mike). Gramma is also survived by her grandchildren Sean (Deanna), Nicole, Adam, Jourdan, Greg and Madison, and her great grandchildren Marlon, Chase and Vaeh, sister Gerry Eland (Hugh), brother Domenic Martelli, Bob Martelli (Maxine) sister-in-law Margaret Reid as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a very active member of The Royal Purple, The Hospital Auxiliary, the Seniors Centre and Catholic Church. Mom was well respected and loved by all that knew her. We will all miss her world famous Italian pastas and her beautiful smile. Special thanks to the nurses of the ICU for all their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 60 Fern Road, Lake Cowichan, on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 1pm. Luncheon to follow. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
