OKEECHOBEE - Lucy Jane Smith died peacefully at the Hamrick Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. She was born in Elba, Ala. to Warren H. and Mildred (Peters) Davis. In 1946, after WWII, her parents moved to Ft. Pierce. She was a member of the graduation class of 1960 at Dan McCarty High School. Following their marriage in August, 1960, Lucy and Kenneth Smith returned to Alabama. After they started a family they returned to Florida and the children were educated in Okeechobee and St. Lucie County Schools. Lucy's greatest loves were her family and her faith and belief in God. She was preceded in death by Kenneth Smith, her husband of 37 years. Survivors include sons, Kenneth Warren Smith, Lenton Derrick Smith; daughter, Robyn Perry, all of Okeechobee; grandchildren, Andrew, James, Jacob, and Taylor Smith, Sarah, Kenley, Luke, Evan and Kaylie Perry. Visitation will be held at 10 am until service time of 11 am on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Buxton-Seawinds Funeral Home.
