ALBANY Lucy Jackson departed this life November 17, 2004 at Ellis Hospital. Mother was born on March 10, 1912 in Gallion, Ala. to the late Deacon John Glass and Lucy McKinley Glass. She came to Christ at an early age at the Lovely P. Baptist Church in Gallion, Ala. She relocated to Albany, N.Y. in 1950 and joined Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Charles E. Woodard. She was educated in the Gallion School System. Mother was employed by Albany Medical Center Hospital and the New York State Department of OGS. She was married to the late Joseph Jackson Sr. She leaves to mourn five children, Iola Jackson, Arsola Crenshaw (Elbert), Bernice Lewis, Joseph Jr. and Ben Jackson, all of Albany; one sister, Ciercie Sanders of Birmingham, Ala.; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Joseph Jackson Sr., four sisters, Rebecca, Rosie, Ethel and Nattie and one brother, John Glass Jr.; two children, John and Otis Jackson and one grandson, Willie Pompey. Lucy Jackson's wake will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church at 3 Morton Avenue, November 22, 2004, 5-7 p.m.
