Lucy Honeycutt Jackson SPARTANBURG, SC-- Lucy Honeycutt Jackson, 90, wife of the late Carl B. Jackson and the late Marvin E. Sloan, died Monday, August 6, 2012. Lucy was born in Spartanburg, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Ellen Moree Honeycutt. She was the owner-operator of Kiddie Cottage Daycare Center and was a member of Ben Avon Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, John Earl Sloan, Sr. of Spartanburg, Larry R. Sloan of Woodruff; two daughters, Brenda Ann Parham of Spartanburg, Corlis King and her husband David of Moore; and a sister, Mary Rouse of Dallas, TX. Lucy was blessed with twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Reverend Dr. James T. Sloan and Reverend Carrol Caldwell. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, 419 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
