YOUNGSVILLE - Lucy Brown Broussard of Youngsville, La. died at 6:10 p.m. on All Saints' Day, Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette following a 13 year battle with multiple forms of cancer. She was 65 years old.Lucy was born Nov. 11, 1939 in Swords, La. and was a longtime resident of Youngsville. She graduated from Eunice High School in 1957 and attended SLI (currently UL) in Lafayette majoring in Pre-Med. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.She was a wonderful cook, confidant and a loyal supporter of her family and friends. She enjoyed exploring the genealogy of her family, reading and visiting with relatives and friends. She was a longtime employee of the Diocese of Lafayette retiring in May of 2005. Lucy will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who had the honor of knowing her.Her survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Raymond J. Broussard, of Youngsville; her three daughters, Rae Ann Broussard Trahan and her husband, Todd, Kim Maria Broussard and her friend, Brent A. Duhon, and Kelli Louise Broussard Mine and her husband, Scott; her two grandchildren, Casey A'Leece Trahan and Benjamin Todd Trahan, all of Youngsville; and her sisters, Mary B. Parker, of Lafayette, and Florence B. Carroll and her husband, Norman, of Sunset.She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Benjamin Brown and Florentine LeJeune Brown, both of Swords, La.; and her two brothers, Antoine Godeaux Jr., of Swords, and Paul Brown, of Lafayette.A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in Martin & Castille Funeral Home located at 330 St. Landry Street in Lafayette, La.Visitation will be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, until time of the funeral Mass.The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville, La.The Very Rev. Monsignor H.A. Larroque, Vicar General of The Diocese of Lafayette, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Trahan, grandson, William "Bill" Parker, nephew and godson, Shelby LeBlanc, nephew, Douglas Paul Brown, nephew, Dewey Godeaux, nephew, and David Russell, nephew-in -law.Honorary pallbearers will be Clark Dale Broussard, nephew, Matthew Carroll, nephew, A.J. Bernard Jr., John "Toon" Thibodeaux and A.J. "Bud" Lanie.Interment will be in the family cemetery in Swords, La.Her family would like to extend their thanks to the Central Office Staff at the Diocese of Lafayette for their prayers and loving support throughout her long battle with cancer.
