Funeral for Lucille Lyle Davis, 91, of Decatur will be today, June 25, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pearl Jenkins, the Rev. Hugh Bohlin and the Rev. Ken Oldham officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis, who died Friday, June 23, 2006, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation, was born Jan. 7, 1915, in Morgan County to Lexie Lyle and Ora Mae Vinsant Lyle. She was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God. Her husband, Carter Davis; and brothers, Edward Lyle and Wayne Lyle, preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Charles Davis and his wife, Margaret, and Vann Davis and his wife, Pat, both of Decatur; two daughters, Martha Jo Landers and her husband, Murray, of Hartselle and Kathryn Landers and her husband, Burl, of Decatur; one brother, John Marshall Lyle of Decatur; one sister, Elizabeth Vaughn Porter of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
