Lucille Kirksey Carter, 93, widow of Horace Lee Carter, of 22 Overton Ave., died Sept. 16, 2002. Born in Fountain Inn, she was the daughter of the late Marion Worth and Thettie Gault Kirksey. Mrs. Carter was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, the Mary Greer Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. Surviving are two daughters, Maxine C. Riley of Greenville and Imogene C. Williams of Seneca; one son, Horace Lee Carter II, of Sumter; grandchildren, Suzanne R. Ellis of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Kirk Williams of Seneca, Kenneth Williams of Walhalla, and Lee and Lisa Carter of Sumter; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, at 2 p.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 2104 Old Buncombe Road, with the Rev. David Sems officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight, from 7 to 8:30, at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2104 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
