Lucille-Jane Jordan, born in 1931, spouse of Richard-A. Jordan, daughter of Albert-Poulin and Antoinette, mother of N. Y, Pete, Sarah, Bruce, Kathy, Ellen, Mark, Chuck and Ginger Jordan, died on June 4, 2011 at 80 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
AUGUSTA -- Lucille Jane (Poulin) Jordan, 80, died on June 4, 2011, at her home in Augusta, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Lucille was the daughter of Albert Poulin and Antoinette (Veilleux) Poulin and stepdaughter of Richard Tardiff.She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Jordan of Augusta, and their four children: Ginger Jordan Hillier and her husband, Chuck Hillier, of Monmouth, Mark Jordan and his wife, Ellen Belknap, of Portland, Kathy Ward and her husband, Bruce, of Gorham and Sarah Gould and her husband, Pete, of Ithaca, N.Y.; six very special grandchildren: Jonathan Hillier and his wife, Christie, Daniel Hillier and his wife, Lauren, Colleen Ward, Jordan Ward, Peter Jordan and William Jordan; a stepsister, Yvette Daniels of Augusta; cousins Nancy Willis of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Paul Veilleux of Florida.Lucille worked as a volunteer with Girl Scouts from Brownies through higher levels of Scouting. She was one of the founders of the Orland School Library and served on their school board. She was active on the Bagaduce Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Castine for eight years and taught at the Maine Maritime Academy Ships Medicine Seminars. She was one of the founders of a volunteer health transportation group for seniors in Castine. She served on the AARP State Legislative Committee/Senior Mobility Task Force. She was an active member of the Waterville Area Art Society and a co-leader of the China Lake Conference Center Healthy Hearts Stretch and Walk Program for Seniors. While living at Granite Hill Estates in Augusta, she was active in the Art For Life and Garden and Grounds Committees. Through the years, she worked actively in her church.The family wishes to express their appreciation for the compassionate care given to Lou by Dr. Cathy Kimball and her staff, everyone at the Alfond Cancer Care Center and especially the local Hospice Care Group.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Antoinette Tardiff Art Scholarship, Tardiff-Fine Scholarship, Maine Community Foundation, One Monument Square, Suite 200, Portland, ME 04101 or Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital St., Augusta, ME 04330.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hallowell.
