YORK, Maine -- Lucien E. Duval, 82, of 60 Raydon Road Ext., died Nov. 18, 2008, at home, after a period of failing health. He was born in Manchester, N.H., June 27, 1926, to Adrien and Florida (Tanguay) Duval. He worked as a golf course superintendent in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and for 23 years at the York Golf & Tennis Club as a superintendent and manager. Mr. Duval was a member of St. Christopher Church, was a 4th-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the U.S. Golf Course Superintendent's Assn., and the New Hampshire, Maine and New England Golf Course Superintendent's Assn. He enjoyed golfing and working around his house. Family includes his wife of 59 years, Mary (Buecher) Duval; daughter Leslie Ann Goan of Hooksett, N.H.; brothers Fernand Duval of Storrs, Conn., and Normand Duval of Tolland, Conn.; sisters Therese Leonitis of Enfield, Conn., Jacqueline Alves of Cape Cod, and Marjorie Gosselin of Manchester, N.H.; a granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
