Louise Tharpe Carter, 81, Clarksville, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at her residence.A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Martin Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. LeVan Strickland officiating.Burial will be in Martin Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Foston Funeral Home at Foston Funeral Home.Foston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.She was born January 23, 1929 in Paris, TN., daughter of Sonnie Tharpe and Emma Tavis Tharpe. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry "Jackson" Carter, sons, Henry, Jr., and Monore, brothers, Willis, Frank, Nearis, Mack, Cecil and Billy, sisters, Bernice, Christine and Rudean.She was member of Martin Chapel A.M.E. Church where she was a mmember of the choir, choir president, Usher, Secretary of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, Assistant and Supterintendant of the Sunday School, Steward, Trustee, Missionary, Deconess, Pastor Aide, Steward and Pastor Steward. Montgomery County School System Head Start program, and she was a Entrepreneur on wheels.Survivors include her children Ron Carter, Wanda Lewis, Gulfport, MS.,sister, Mildred (Willie) Hall, Bellwood, ILL., brother, Bobby Tharpe, Chicago, ILL., grand children, Shedrich (Carisa) Webster, Clarksville, TN., Monique (Joe) Agee, Gulfport, MS., Edgar Allen Fowler, III., Gulfport, MS., great grandchildren, Bryce and Bryanna Webster., special daughter Krista Echols and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
