SMITH, Louise, daughter ofJacob and Margaret EthelThorne, was born January 17,1920. A native of AutaugaCounty, she graduated fromMarbury High School in 1939.She attended JacksonvilleState Teachers College andshe received a Bachelor ofScience Degree in Educationfrom Alabama College (University of Montevallo). Louise began teachingschool at Haynes Vida Schooland while working in thecommunity, she met Ivan W.Smith in 1940. They marriedAugust 7, 1943 and had twochildren, Janice Smith Farrand Ivan ""Van"" Wilfred, II.They made their home innorth Autauga County whereshe was active in her churchand community. She retiredfrom teaching at BillingsleySchool in May of 1980. Shewas greatly loved and will bedeeply missed. Louise is survived by her husband, Ivan W. Smith and theirtwo children: Janice S. Farrand Van Smith; four grandchildren and one great-grandson: Jani Farr; Will,Brooke and Brody Smith; ZacSmith; and Grace Smith.Louise is preceded in deathby her son-in-law, Dr. JackFarr, and daughter-in-law,Anna A. Smith. Visitation will be held Monday, August 3rd from 5:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, Ala.The family will be receivingfriends at Indian Grave BaptistChurch, Billingsley, Ala. August 4th at 1:30 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2:00p.m.
