Louise Smith, born in 1910, spouse of Elaine Smith, daughter of Hickson and Alice-Hughes, died on June 11, 2004 at 94 years old.
Miss Annie Louise Smith, 94, of 101 Church St., died Friday, June 11, 2004, at The Springs Assisted Living. Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late Hickson B. and Alice Hughes Smith. Miss Smith graduated in 1931 from Greenville Women's College (Furman University), was a teacher with the Greenville County School System for forty-four years, and was a substitute teacher for seven more years. She was a life-long member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, where she attended the Searchers Sunday School Class and the Joy Fellowship group. Miss Smith was also a former organist of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, and was a member of the Homemaker Club of Simpsonville. Surviving are a nephew, Frank H. Smith Jr., and his wife, Elaine, of Simpsonville; and a great-nephew, Elliott H. Smith, of Simpsonville. Miss Smith was predeceased by a brother, Frank H. Smith.Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. today, June 13, 2004, at Simpsonville First Baptist Church Chapel, with the Rev. Randy Harling and the Rev. Stephen Clyborne officiating. Burial will be at Simpsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. today, June 13, 2004, at the church.According to Miss Smith's wishes, the family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the Music Ministry of Eastlan Baptist Church, 625 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607.The family is at 101 Church St., Simpsonville.Cannon Funerals and Cremations - Jones Chapel.
