Louise Smith 1923 - 2011 EAST LONGMEADOW - Louise (Washington) Smith, 88, of Westford Ave., Spring-field, departed this life on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at East Long-meadow Skilled Nursing Center. Born and educated in Mt. Clemons, MI, she moved to Springfield 54 years ago and had been employed as an assistant teacher by Early Childhood Center. An ordained Deacon in the Martin Luther King Community Presbyterian Church, she served as a Greeter, a member of the Senior Choir, and the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of Harrison Wright American Legion Post #289. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Gearing of Springfield; a sister, Minnie Deloris Heard of Detroit, MI; 3 grandchildren, Edward, Alison, and Lance Gearing; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
