Obituary of Louise-Smith Lee


LEE Louise Smith Lee passed away on Sunday morning, July 28, 2002. She was a native of Jacksonville and the only surviving child of the late Thomas R. Smith, an original developer of the Avondale shopping district, and Rosa E. Smith. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, GA and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Louise was an avid lover of animals and later in life trained her very special dogs in obedience trials, traveling the state. Those who loved her as she loved all of them included her three sons, Richard Webb Lee, Robert F. " Skip" Lee (Marcie), and Thomas Rodman " Rod" Lee (Barbara); her grandchildren, Courtney Anne Lee, Trevor Smith Lee (Cindy), Robert Blake Lee, Christopher Alan Acuff, and Michele Catherine Acuff; her great-grandchildren, Alexa Heartlee Perryman, Larissa Ann Lee, and Kirsten Louise Lee; her sister-in-law, Gisela Eisenmenger Smith; her nephews, Michael Smith and Christian Smith; her cousin, Ruth, and daughter, Barbara Jackson, many other cousins and special friends, Gerry and Beverly Fletchall, Lisa Carter, the entire staff at " Some Place Like Home", and her companion of many years, her dog, " Joshee". A memorial service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2002. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates your donations to the Saint Andrews Lighthouse, Inc. in Louises memory, addressed to 1797 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
