Mrs. Louise Sanders Johnson, 63, of Panama City, passed away Friday evening, March 6, 2009, at her residence. Born in Dothan, Ala., she had been a longtime resident of Panama City, moving here from Pensacola, Fla. Louise graduated from Dothan High School in 1963 and attended Shorter College in Rome, Ga., and Livingston College in Livingston, Ala. She was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Louise also was a member of the Gulf Coast Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Fan Club cancer support group and the ACBL Club, of which she was a life master for many years. Her love of bridge was reflected through her teaching and directing. She was an avid collector of antiques. Louise was a loyal friend and was a blessing to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Lee Sanders; and sister, Barbara Sanders Trawick. Louise is survived by her husband of 40 years, Greg Johnson of Panama City; one daughter, Ashley Overstreet and husband, Morgan, of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandchildren, Morgan Overstreet II and Mallory Overstreet. Funeral services for Louise will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, in the Southerland Family Funeral Home with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers, Ernest Browning, Jim Bowen, Sandy Willard, Larry Johnson, Terry Johnson and Rusty Arnold. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. today, March 8, 2009, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice in memory of Louise Johnson.
