->SOUTH GARDINER -- Louise Myra (Brown) Smith, 75, of Lawrence Street in South Gardiner, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Gardiner on May 12, 1930, a daughter of Frederick and Myra Cookson Brown. Louise had been employed at Gardiner General Hospital, Commonwealth Shoe Factory, Gardiner Shoe Factory and Progressive food warehouse. She enjoyed roller skating; dancing; gardening, both vegetables and flowers; crocheting; puzzles; music; television; holidays; the outdoors and making afghans. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gagne and her husband, Robert, of South Gardiner; her sister, Shirley M. Eldridge of South Gardiner; sister-in-law Myrtle Brown of Augusta; aunt and uncle Myrtle and Lloyd Hanning of West Gardiner; two granddaughters, Arica Gagne and Trisha Gagne, both of South Gardiner; great-granddaughter Amanda Destiny Gagne-Marston and great-grandson Jacob Robert Gagne-Adams, both of South Gardiner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Mount Hope Cemetery in South Gardiner, beside her husband. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
