LOUISE MERRITTSMITH, 62Retired Educator LAKELAND - Mrs. Louise Merritt Smith, 62, died 6/6/10 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of respiratory failure. Mrs. Smith was born in Tallahassee, and educated in the Leon County School system. She relocated to Miami where she met and married the late Charlie Pratt Sr. She later married Mr. Edward Smith. Mrs. Smith attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She later earned her Master's degree in Elementary Education. She was a devoted member of Morning Star M.B. Church for over 25 years. After moving to Lakeland she united with Jerusalem MB Church in Mulberry. She leaves her children: Colletter Green and Charlie Pratt Jr. (Rokeah); one brother, Orneld Merritt Jr.; eleven grandchildren, and one great grandson. Visitation Fri, 5-7 pm in the Coney Chapel; funeral Sat, 10 am at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Mulberry, FL. Burial Sun, 3pm in Tallahassee, FL. Services entrusted to Coney Funeral Home.
