November 3, 2006 Louise Whipple Thurber Lee, 88, wife of the late Richard F. Lee of Cazenovia, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2006, at Alterra Residential Living Center in Manlius, NY. She was a longtime resident of Cazenovia, NY. She was born in Providence, RI, on August 24, 1918, the daughter of Anna and George E. Thurber. She received her education at Classical High School in Providence and then graduated from the University of Rhode Island, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Later she taught home economics in North Providence. An active member of the Cazenovia community, she participated in Shakespeare Club, St. Peter's Church and as a leader and organizer for the Madison County Girl Scouts of America. She was also a member of the Owahgena Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Gardening and playing the piano were her passions. Surviving are her daughter, Diana L. Lee of Naples, FL; her son, Richard T. Lee of Seattle, WA; and two grandsons, Christopher G. Lee of Brooklyn, NY, and Stephen A.T. Lee of Los Angeles, CA. A funeral service for a celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cazenovia. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI.
