Louise L. Smith September 3, 2011 Louise L. Smith, recently of Weedsport, NY, passed away on September 3, 2011. Louise was born in Syracuse, NY, on November 17, 1926. She worked at LaFayette High School cafeteria for 14 years. She retired in 1991 from her position as dispatcher for the Chili Volunteer Fire Department. She then moved to Lady Lake, FL, where she was involved in community affairs and was a member of the Chapel of All Faiths Church. She and her husband Burton volunteered at Habitat for Humanity for five years and as Hospice caregivers for nine years, having received the Volunteer of the year Award three consecutive years from Hospice in Florida. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Florida. She was predeceased by her adoring husband of 66 years, Burton L. Smith Sr. She is survived by two loving daughters, Sharon Long (David) and Trudie Barker-Jindrak (Mark); five loving sons, Burton Jr. (Jean), Richard (Sherri), David (Beth), Marc (Sandy) and Jerry (Debbie); one sister, Susan G. Ruehl; 23 grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Richard Jr., Kimberly, Stacey, Cantrelle, Jeshua, Matt, Holly, Julie, Kelly, Marc Jr., Jackie, Teila, Christopher, Kevin, Laura, Ashlee, Steve, William, Mark, Michael and Stephanie; and 41 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Thelma McVoy, Patricia Naylor and Gertrude Lauzon, and one brother, William Lauzon. Services: noon Thursday, September 8, 2011, at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY 13212. Burial will be private.
