Louise Jackson, born in 1915, spouse of Clyde Lawrence, mother of Bernice, Gregory and Cedric, died on January 20, 2012.
JACKSON, Louise Ann "Lois" 96, of Tampa, blessed, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Jan. 20, 2012. Born on Nov. 17, 1915, in Grand Cayman, BWI. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Lawrence. They were married 56 years and loved each other dearly. Also preceded in death by daughter Bernice Dean and her son Gregory Elison. She leaves her remaining 7 children, Cedric "Mickey" Jackson (Joyce), Lois "Ginger" Roberts, Clyde "Larry" Jackson (Nancy), Mary Land, Gary Jackson (Sue), Sadie Muley (Joe), Julia Crowe (Tom); 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She achieved so much in her 96 years. Her proudest accomplishment was when she became a U.S. citizen after moving to Tampa in 1944, with her family. An avid reader and self-educated aside from only having a 5th grade education, she completed her high school diploma in only one year at Chamberlin High School in 1974. She was a life-long member of West Hillsborough Baptist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School for many years. She worked at Maas Brothers in the 70's and at Martin's Uniforms. Visitation Jan. 27, 4 to 7 pm at Blount & Curry F.H., 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa. Funeral services will be on Jan. 28, at 11 am at West Hillsborough Baptist Church, 2717 W.
