Louise J. Smith, 86, died Jan. 3, 2013 at home. She was born in Egypt, Ga., and lived in Vero Beach since 1987, coming from Caldwell, N.J. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Caldwell, N.J. Survivors include her daughters, Leslie Martin and Prissy Smith, both of Vero Beach; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, James A. Smith; son, Walter S. Johnson; and brother, Carroll L. Dutton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Volunteer Fire Department, 30 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, N.J. 07006.
