Louise-F. Johnson, born in 1919, spouse of C. -Iver Johnson, daughter of Michael and Theresa, mother of Joyce Kochan, Ny, Ct, Ma, Joan and Jerry, died on July 7, 2005 at 86 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Louise F. Age 86, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Baty St. on Thursday, July 7, 2005. She is survived by her children, Joyce Kochan (John) Patti of Newport, NY, Joan (Henry) Pounds of Wilton, CT, and Jerry (Susan) Johnson of Feeding Hills, MA; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Rohde of Edgewater, FL; brother-in-law, Richard Riley of Liverpool, NY; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, C. Iver Johnson, January 1997; parents, Michael and Theresa (McCarthy) Rohde; sisters, Dorothy Riley, Theresa Burdick and Betty Riley; brother, Lawrence Rohde. Louise was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, member of the ladies of charity since 1953, active on several committees including Mother Cabrini Committee, First Saturday Luncheons, and the Honor Guard. She also had 500-plus hours of volunteer work at St. Joseph's Hospital, member of The D.O.E.s of the B.P.O.E. Elks Club. Louise was an avid golfer and was a daily player at the Mark Twain for years. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, on Sunday, July 10, 2005, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter & Paul's Church, corner of Market and High Streets, Elmira, NY. Father Robert MacNamara is celebrant, followed by graveside service in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Officers and members of the D.O.E.s of the B.P.O.E. Elks #181 will meet at the funeral home at 4:30 to conduct a service for their dearly departed sister. Those wishing may make memorials to St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, NY 14904. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the kindness given to Louise by her niece, Kathleen; Ruby and Lois; and many friends and neighbors.
