Obituary of Louise Dupuis


Mrs. Louise M. (Leger) Dupuis, formerly of Waltham died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Exeter Hospital in Exeter, New Hampshire. She was 98. Louise was born in Cormier Village, New Brunswick, on February 29, 1912, the youngest child of Jean and Emilenne (Cormier) Leger and had lived in Waltham since the age of 19. After arriving she worked as a nanny for many years for the Thompson family, whose patriarch was the president at that time of the Jordan Marsh Company. Her sister, Minnie Surette, was the cook and her brother |in-law, Arthur Surette was the chauffer. Louise also worked as an assembler at the Waltham Watch Factory and she was also one of the few that received her last paycheck from that company when they closed their doors in 1950. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking. She was the wife of the late Allain E. Dupuis and was the last survivor of her ten siblings. Louise leaves her son, Paul A. Dupuis and his wife, Dana, of Stratham, New Hampshire; her granddaughter, Nicole Dupuis and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends honored and remembered Louises life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 16th in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham.
