Obituary of Louise-Brynes Bailey

Louise Brynes Bailey - SEMINOLE, FL - Louise Brynes Bailey, 94, passed this temporal life in Seminole, FL, into eternal life at Consulate Health Care, where she had received wonderful care and constant love and attention from her caregivers. Born in Savannah, GA, Louise's family included her late parents Joseph Michael Brynes and Elizabeth Imelda Brynes-Byrnes; deceased brothers Joseph Matthew Brynes and his wife Margaret, Arthur Brynes and wife Dorothy; and sister Mary Brynes Walton and husband Robert. Having finished St. Vincent's Grammar School and St. Vincent's Academy, where she received her educational foundation and a deeper love of God, Louise entered St. Joseph's School of Nursing which later gave her an incentive to go to Washington, D.C. for a six-month course in pediatrics. Returning to Savannah, Louise was advised by her father to obtain a nurse's position with the government. Louise received a job in Florida; living with two other nurses whose family names also began with a "B" like hers. They called the bungalow "THE BEE HIVE". When her mother became ill Louise returned home to Savannah to help. She received a position in St. Joseph's Hospital's nursery and was grateful to the Sisters in allowing her to return home to care for her mother. Following her mother's passing she returned to Florida with her father to take care of him until he passed. At the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Louise was married in 1946 to William E. Bailey, now deceased.. Louise leaves her loving daughters and sons-in-law Madelyn and Tom Lindsey of Seminole, FL, Theresa and Danny Stephens of SC; sons and daughters-in-law William and Barbara Bailey of NC and Joseph and Joanne Bailey of St. Pete, FL; three grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister Sr. Mary Felice Brynes of GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received at the funeral home starting at 6pm on August 6, 2010 and a prayer service will begin at 7pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Matthew's Catholic Church. E.
