Obituary of Louise-Blount Walker


Mrs. Louise Blount Walker - CLYO - Mrs. Louise Blount Walker was born July 17, 1923 to the union of Mr. Richard Blount and Mrs. Lula Cooper Blount. Mrs. Walker was educated in the Chatham County School System, and furthered her education at Savannah State College, where she majored in Business and Middle School Education. She taught in Chatham, Emanuel, and Camden counties a number of years before moving to Ludowici, GA and teaching in the Long County School System. She retired from teaching in 1988. She was very active in the community and served as a member of the Long County Chamber of Commerce. She was active at the Senior Citizens¿¿ Center and as a citizen planner with the local County Commission. In 2008, she was designated as the Grand Marshall for the Long County High School Homecoming Parade. She joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Oliver, GA at an early age where she was a faithful member. She was also a faithful and supporting attendee at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici, GA. Mrs. Walker departed this life on Sunday, June 20, 2010 in the loving care of Hospice Savannah. She leaves to cherish her memories, her nephew, Mr. K. Richard Blount, Gainesville, FL; a great niece, Kibibi Blount, Detroit, MI; a great nephew, Musa Blount, Gainesville, FL; a step- daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean (Bennie) Harris, Boynton, VA; two loving and devoted Goddaughters, Ms. Wylene W. Bruno, Reidsville, GA, and Mrs. Jennifer A. (Rev. Donald) Waldburg, Guyton, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. Visitation: Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 6-8 p.m. St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Ludowici, GA. Funeral: Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Oliver, GA. Interment: St. John Baptist Church Cemetery.
