SHREWSBURY -- Mrs. Louise Ann (Lampron) Dumas, 71, a resident of Old Plymouth Road in Shrewsbury died on Sunday morning, Feb. 8, 2004 surrounded by her family at the Rutland Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.Mrs. Dumas was born on Dec. 30, 1932 in Bennington, the daughter of Alfred Eugene and Mary Louise (Branchaud) Lampron. She was a graduate of Bennington High School (BenHi) and, on April 24, 1954, was married to Frederick Dumas.The Dumases resided in Bennington until 1990 when Mrs. Dumas retired and they then moved to Shrewsbury. While residing in Bennington, Mrs. Dumas was the secretary of the physical plant at Bennington College where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church in Bennington and a member of the Sacred Heart Spiritual Society. Mrs. Dumas was a member of American Legion Post No. 13 Auxiliary in Bennington and was especially fond of gardening and traveling and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Mrs. Dumas is survived by her husband, Frederick Dumas of Shrewsbury; a son, John Dumas and his wife Harriet of Hartland; and a son, Robert Dumas and his companion Bonnie Hamilton of West Rutland; a brother, Roger Lampron of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a sister, Leona LeBlanc of Sudbury; two grandsons, Matthew and Nathan Dumas; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Armand Lampron, Ernest Lampron, Paul Lampron and Raymond Lampron; and two sisters, Jeannette Lampron and Marguerite Lampron.The liturgy of Christian burial will be offered on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Wallingford with the Rev. Robert J. McKnight officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph. Friends are invited to call at the Brewster Funeral Home, 34 Park Place in Manchester Center on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. An evening prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 7 p.m.Gifts in Mrs. Dumas’ memory may be made to the Rutland Regional Medical Center Cancer Center or St. Jude’s Research Hospital in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O.
