Louis Patrice "Pat" Quirion, of Hearst The funeral service for longtime Hearst resident Louis Patrice (Pat) Quirion, 77, was held Sept. 8, 2008. He died Sept. 4 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born May 11, 1931 in St-Simon-les-Mines, Québec, he came to the Hearst area in 1948. A town councillor from 1974-1979 and Knight of Columbus, he worked in trucking and later in heavy equipment sales. He was also a member of the Club soleil des aîné-e-s seniors and Atelier des pionniers-ières du Nord-Louisbourg centres. Predeceased by his first wife Adrienne (née Jacques) , he leaves his wife Ginette (née Beauchesne) Quirion and daughter Lyne Quirion, both of Hearst, sons Denis (Hélène Lachance) of Hearst, Rémi of Peterborough, and Michel (Lisa Whalen) Quirion of St. John’s, Newfoundland-Labrador, granddaughters Stephanie, Kelsey and Carlie, and grandsons Sheldon and Scott. Also surviving are his sisters Gilberte Quirion of Notre-Dame-des-Pins (Beauce) , Qué., Gemma Quirion of Thetford Mines, Qué., Irma Quirion of St-Georges, Qué., and Isabelle Quirion of Québec City, and brothers Charles-Auguste of St-Simon-les-Mines and Bertrand Quirion of Québec City. Rev. Rémi Lessard directed the service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at Monsignor Pierre Grenier Cemetery.
