August 30, 1962 – December 8, 2011Lorri was born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia on August 30, 1962. She had a great life growing up. She was a very popular and friendly person. Lorri worked in the fish cannery for a couple of years then tried bartending, which she liked. Her brother, Glen, then tried it and ended up working with his sister for a short time. After Glen moved on, Lorri left Prince Rupert to try life in Vancouver. Then Lorri met and married Chuck Johnson, but after four years they separated. Then Lorri met Larry Young (Nap) who treated her like gold. Within the last two years of her life she started having trouble with her stomach and legs. This went on for one year in which time she was in and out of the hospital. Finally, during another hospital visit, they found out she had pancreatic cancer. By then her legs were badly affected and they needed to be dressed every two days. Eventually she could no longer walk. Lorri had a hard time fighting the pain and the family went through many hot blankets to help ease her suffering. On the last two days of her life she lost her voice. Lorrie's family will always have the memory of her brother rubbing her back, her sister rubbing her hand, Mom wiping her tears and Dad talking softly to her.Lorri leaves behind Mom, Carol Smith of Prince Rupert, Dad, Glen Smith of Parksville, brother Glen (Colleen) Smith of Prince Rupert and sister Joann (Dan) Pipe of Nelson, Uncle Ted (Marie) Dickens of Prince Rupert, and Aunty Pat Anderson of Parksville.
