HALL, Lorraine (nee Thomas) On Wednesday, March 28, 2007, Lorraine Margaret Hall (nee Thomas) of Whitecourt passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Ora, who was killed in action during World War II. She will be mourned, loved and never forgotten by her sisters and their families, Lavine (Bill) Bye of Stony Plain and Fern (Frank) Geinger Mayerthorpe; nephews and niece, Harry Angell, Linda and Ralph Geinger and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Lila (1988) and Detmer Thomas (1987) and her long time friend, Curley Webb. Lorraine, as a young woman joined the Army to defend Canada and on discharge, she commenced a life of farming, cooking and truck driving. Twenty-five years ago she settled in Whitecourt to continue cooking and ease into retirement. She loved to entertain and had an opinion on important matters. Rest in Peace Lorraine. Funeral Service to Remember Lorraine will be held Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitecourt Legion, Whitecourt, AB. Interment in Field of Honour, Whitecourt Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Friends of Whitecourt or to a charity of your choice.
