Bradenton, Fla. - Loretta M. Hughes, 81, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Poultney, Vt., passed away Aug. 14, 2014.She was born Aug. 31, 1932, in New London, to the late Phillip and Amelia (Pelliter) Goff. Loretta worked as a waitress in various restaurants in Connecticut and attended Poultney Welsh Presbyterian Church. She moved to Bradenton in January of 1986, from Poultney.Loretta was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert, in April of 2013.She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Renee L. and William Fekete of Bradenton, Monique and Thomas Rowley-Samperi of Ashford, Conn.; two grandchildren, Taylor Rowley of College Station, Texas, Benjamin Rowley of Ashford; and many extended family members and friends.Private family services will be held at a later date.The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Niantic Fire Department, 8 Grand St., Niantic, CT 06357.Condolences for the family may be made online at www.shannonfuneralhomes.com.
