Loretta G. Fluet lifelong Fitchburg resident; 86 Fitchburg Loretta G. (Lortie) Fluet, 86, died Monday, May 26th at her home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Fluet was born in Fitchburg, June 15, 1921, one of ten children born to Joseph and Rose (Messier) Lortie and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident. She attended St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg where she was a standout softball pitcher as well as volleyball player. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Emile A. Fluet, two sons and daughters in law; Dr. James E. and Sharon Fluet of Leominster, Thomas E. and Marcia Fluet of Pepperell, a daughter and son in law; Constance R. and Joseph Biedryzcki of Manchester, NH, six grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Fluet, Anthony Fluet, Joel Biedryzcki, Stephen Biedryzcki, Aaron Biedryzcki and Emma Biedryzcki. She was the sister of the late Frank Lortie, Ernest Lortie, Thomas Lortie, Wilfred Lortie, William Lortie, Sister Olive Lortie and Florence Lacas, Annette Leger, and Edward Lortie. Many years ago, Mrs. Fluet worked at the Fitchburg Yarn Company as well as Godroy Wholesale Company, both of Fitchburg. FLUET A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
