Obituary of Lois-Lorraine Moore


Lois Lorraine Moore, 85, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at HCR Manor Care in Pinehurst, N.C. A memorial service was held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 2 p.m., at Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Pinehurst. Born June 17, 1924 to the late Eldon T. and Goldie Slaunwhite Webb in St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada, she was a graduate of the Dean Academy in Franklin, and received her BS in Food Science from Union College in Barbourville, Ky. She married Richard on Dec. 26, 1949, making Lexington, their home for the next 35 years. They have lived in the Pinehurst area for the last 20 years. She was a member of the Lexington Ski Club, Lexington. She loved golf, bridge, and traveling with Richard. She and Richard recently celebrated their diamond (60 years) anniversary. She is survived by her husband; one son Jeffrey Moore and wife Kathi of Salem, NH; two daughters Karen Sullivan and husband Thomas of Marietta, Ga., and Cheryl Rose and husband Larry of Windham, N.H.; one sister Phyllis Price of Ashburnham; four grandchildren Jennifer Rose, Lindsey Moore, Garrett Moore, and Ryan Campbell. Mrs. Moore is predeceased by her parents and a brother Carmon Webb. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union College, 310 College St., Barbourville, KY 40906.
